Winter Whale Watching
Every year over 20,000 California Gray Whales pass through our bay waters on their annual winter migration from the cold arctic waters, to the warm lagoons of Baja Peninsula, where they spend their calving season. During the months of January, February and March, you can get breathtaking close up views of these beautiful cetaceans. Sightings of Dolphin Porpoise and other marine mammals are also common. These trips last 3 to 4 hours, and they are narrated. This is truly an Ocean Adventure for the whole family!

Summer Whale & Sea life Excursion
For the truly adventurous, come aboard and join us as we search the bay sanctuary for a variety of marine mammals which may include Humpback Whales, Blue Whales, Dolphins, Sea Otter, Sea Lions and more! This trip is narrated, and offers fascinating insight by our knowledgeable crew. Trips last approximately 3 to 4 hrs.

One Hour Scenic Bay Cruise
Come view the beautiful Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary aboard Velocity! Sightings of Sea Lions, Otters and other marine life are common, so be sure to bring your camera. This trip is both fun and educational for everyone. It lasts 1 hour and is fully narrated.
Season: Daily operations Memorial Day
through Labor Day.

Santa Cruz Harbor (F Dock) Meeting Location:
The boat is docked at the F-Dock, at the Santa Cruz West Harbor, on the corner of Mariner Park Way and Atlantic Avenue. Take a left into the Marina and look for the F-Dock sign and the vessel the Velocity. Please check in with the attendant. You can park at this parking lot ($5 per day). For Fishing Trips you can purchase a parking permit. For Whale Watching you will need to bring $4.00 in quarters for the meters. If you are having a problem locating us, please call the office at (831) 427-2334.
From San Jose:
- Start CA-87 S
- Merge onto I-280 N toward SAN FRANCISCO
- Merge onto CA-17 S toward SANTA CRUZ
- CA-17 S becomes OCEAN ST
- Turn LEFT onto EAST CLIFF DR
- Turn RIGHT onto SEABRIGHT AVE
- Turn LEFT onto ATLANTIC
- ATLANTIC will end at the Santa Cruz West Harbor
- Turn LEFT down into the harbor parking lot. We are located at F-Dock.
