Welcome to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art- located downtown in the spectacular building created by renowned Swiss architect -Mario Botta. This post-modern jewel with the brick façade and striped oculus skylight showcases an ever changing array of exhibits.

In addition to showcasing its far-ranging permanent collection, the museum serves as a frequent stopping-off point for prestigious traveling blockbusters. The museum’s crown jewels now keep company alongside heavyweight works by Matisse, Duchamp, Magritte, Rothko and many more.

SFMOMA is closed on the following public holidays: New Year's Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. SFMOMA closes at 4:45 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. The Museum is open the Wednesday between Christmas and New Year's Day.
