The sunny days, moderate nights, and long growing season of the Santa Cruz Mountains, which are south of San Francisco and overlook the Pacific Ocean and the San Francisco Bay, have long been recognized as ideal for world class wines. 

All our vineyards are located on 120 acres above the village of Saratoga that have been in the family for over 100 years.  Total vineyard acreage is 28: eleven Cabernet Sauvignon, five Cabernet Franc, five Chardonnay, four Syrah, two Viognier, and one Merlot.

Our equestrian center, Garrod Farms Riding Stables, offers horseback riding daily on trails with panoramic views of Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay. We also have picnic and special event facilities in addition to wine tasting. 

Cooper-Garrod has been producing award-winning wines since 1991 and we are pleased to offer online ordering.

Ten different things to do at this historic 120-acre estate and vineyard...

1. History buffs will be greeted by ranch buildings reminiscent of the Valley of yore.

2. Antique auto experts can check out the 1932 Ford parked by the tasting room.

3. Speaking of which, free wine tastings are held every Monday-Friday, noon-5pm and every Saturday-Sunday, 11am-5pm

4. Inside the tasting room, aviation aficionados be sure to see the photo exhibit of George Cooper's career as a NASA test pilot.

5. For art lovers, the art exhibits are free (be sure to find out when is the next art show).

6. Horse enthusiasts will get a kick out of watching the Mount Eden vaulting team training (Tuesday-Friday, 3-6pm, and Saturday, 8am-5pm) or attending the free horse shows where students and other horse lovers ride.

7. Free picnic areas.

8. For hikers and runners, access to the Fremont-Older and Midpeninsula Open Space areas are added bonuses.

9. Finally, the family extends an open invitation to photographers and artists to bring their cameras or easels and spend time capturing the beauty of the panoramic views of Santa Clara Valley and other picturesque scenery.
